Ash is a queer multi-disciplinary artist, jokester, and bleeding heart currently based in Brooklyn. Special as
hell, she/they/he does a lot to stay right on this planet.

These lil paintins represent a fraction of work that I get up to. When, if living itself, has become the art, when preparing food, loving on and caring for the dog, remembering to see, staying humble and soaked in gratitude has become the art. When keeping a consistent bedtime routine, perpetually ready to 'wake up', learn, unlearn, process and integrate challenges and trauma, resolutely learning how to fight against the greed driven tyrannical empire, these are. all.
my current art.
When I'm really disciplined, the art looks like getting wrapped up in a book, stretching on the mat, swinging weights around, staying in touch with friends and family, being kind to myself, appreciating the smallest joys. When I'm less structured, the art is making a new recipe, taking
an impromptu trip to nature, fussing with something vain like outfits or hair or accessories.
Painting and drawing, crafting with my hands, even
ceramics, fall into both being disciplined and impulsivity
for me. It is pure tactile joy. It is play. Of course I don't
love every thing I make, but I remember that is not the point. Existential dread and depression come along with
this flesh vessel, but so long as I can reach a balance, a magical precarious experience synchronizing a curious, hopeful mind with a regulated, active body and a
nourished, kind spirit into creating
something good.
Towards something better.
